The Work of Hospice Ethiopia
The Diocese has today (Tuesday 26 July) launched the Prayer Calendar through social media - enabling anyone who uses Facebook or Twitter to more easily join in prayer.
By following the new Twitter handle @PrayerCalendar, each day at 6am a tweet is sent highlighting parishes and schools people across the Diocese are praying for that day (slimmed down to the 140 character limit).
By 'liking' the Facebook page here users can receive the full day's calendar entry, also at 6am each day.
Speaking about the launch, Gordon Darley, Marketing & Communications Manager said:
"We wanted to make the Prayer Calendar more accessible to as many people as possible and as easily as possible. Prayer is for everyone, but not everyone will find a paper sheet or downloaded PDF the best format for them. For those who use Twitter or Facebook regularly as their source of news and comment we thought it would be wonderful if they could join with us by receiving the day's prayers direct to their mobile or tablet. We want to enable a wider audience to pray for each of our parishes and schools."
The Prayer Calendar will continue to be included within the bi-monthly Magazine, and is available to download as a PDF a number of month's before that start of the month it features here.
