Roman Catholic Deacon Revd Peter Glanville, a retired BBC Radio producer originally came up with the idea for the walk about 14 years ago. Since then Acle 'Churches Together' hold an annual prayer walk around the village.
Christians of all denominations joined together to walk and pray outside significant community locations to recognise the work done by staff within each building and to allow time for prayer for these places.
The walk was led by Revd Martin Greenland and Methodist Minister Revd Steve Cullis and the stops included a local bank, a building development, the Fire Station, St Edmund’s Primary School, Acle Recreation Centre, the Medical Centre, the Library and Acle Methodist Church.
John Kenny, a participant in the walk said:
”This was an excellent example of ecumenism for other villages to follow.”
