The Way of St Francis, Via di Francesco, is a pilgrimage route from Florence, through Assisi to Rome visiting key sites from the saint’s life.
The whole thing would be a mammoth undertaking – 550 km – we will walk the 125 kms between the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, Rieti and the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi.
Because this is a pilgrimage, as well as a long distance walk, there will be opportunities for prayer and worship at the beginning and end of the day.
The cost is £1350 per person This covers flights, accommodation, full board, luggage transfers and the Via di San Francesco pilgrim passport.
This pilgrimage involves a substantial amount of walking, some of which will be over irregular surfaces.
If walking up to 13+ miles a day is something you find difficult, then this pilgrimage is unsuitable for you. Further details, including how to book are via this link.
