The Revd Andrew is currently Rural Dean and Team Rector of the Aylsham and District Team Ministry.
The Bishop of Exeter, the Rt Revd Robert Atwell, said:
“I am delighted that Andrew Beane has accepted my invitation to become Archdeacon of Exeter.
“As a priest with oversight of a large clutch of rural parishes, Andrew understands well both the joys and the challenges of rural life and ministry.”
Revd Andrew said:
“It is a great privilege and honour to have been invited to become the next Archdeacon of Exeter, and to join the team in Devon.
“I am really excited about getting to know the diverse network of communities served by the Church in and around the city of Exeter and the towns and villages of East Devon.
“I hope to bring a sense of creativity to the role as I work with people to support them in mission and ministry.
“One of my passions is to build community and reach out to those who live in the parishes in which we serve. How do we use our church buildings as places of Christian hospitality and witness? How do we make connections with children and young people, especially through our work with schools?
“As a family we will be sad to say goodbye to some of the wonderful people here in Norfolk, but look forward with excitement to this next chapter in our Christian journey.”
