VISIT THE PARISH BUYING WEBSITE

‘Parish Buying’ is an initiative by the Church of England to support parishes by providing competitive deals and buying guides.

For example, they provide detailed buying guides on Church Insurance and include an independent review of the policies offered by both Ecclesiastical and Trinitas, who also offer Church Insurance.

There are a number of areas where a PCC can potentially reduce their running costs and the Diocese is pleased to share information about these different resources which are provided by Parish Buying.

Church Insurance

As this is a somewhat specialist area of insurance, there are only a handful of insurers who offer cover. Parish Buying have produced guidance notes which offer details of two different insurers who are currently active in the market and also offers suggestions on how parishes could reduce their premiums.

The guide is available to download below. However, you may wish to sign up to the Parish Buying website to ensure you are kept up-to-date with any further developments.

Utility Bills

Parish Buying also have a scheme called the Energy Basket. By utilising the buying power of a large block of Parishes, it is possible to reduce your electricity and gas bills. You can initially submit a data collection form which allows Parish Buying to contact your supplier and provide you with details of potential savings and at this initial stage is non committal.

General Expenditure

Parish Buying can also help you to obtain discounts in other areas, such as office products, IT (including software), photocopiers and printers, phone and broadband and fire safety.
