The Shared Vocation Space brings together the resources to support those wanting to explore a calling towards lay or ordained public ministry in our diocese.
Are you thinking about a vocation in ordained or lay ministry?
Would you like to explore this further?
The Norwich Shared Vocation Space 2024-25
Incorporating the new School of Mission!
The Shared Vocation Space opens its doors again on 18th September 2024 as the place for anyone in the diocese who wishes to explore a call to licensed ministry. New for this year is the incorporation of a School of Mission for anyone who wants to build confidence in sharing their faith and gain a deeper understanding of how they can support mission in their local context.
Is God speaking to you about your Ministry and Mission?
The Shared Vocations Space programme gives you the chance to explore whether you are being called to play a role in Ministry. Discover the various pathways leading to Licensed Lay Ministry (LLM), Ordained Ministry (becoming a priest), Chaplaincy, Pioneer, Authorised Worship and Authorised Pastoral Assistant.
Hear vocations stories, explore Scripture and have the chance to think about some key issues relating to each ministry. There will be opportunities to explore your questions in small groups. By the end of the programme, you will be well placed to enter the formal selection process for either LLM or Ordained Ministry.
Whether or not you have a calling into formal ministry, every Christian is called to be engaged in Mission. The School of Mission, running side by side with the Vocation Space, is designed to build confidence in telling your Christian story and participating in local parish mission. Each session explores one of the Marks of Mission and will give you the opportunity for practical involvement in live projects across the diocese.

The sessions are hosted by the Revd Dr Michael Fox and members of the DDO & LLM Teams with contributions from mission practitioners alongside lay and ordained ministers from around and beyond the Diocese.
“The sessions have been incredibly informative, but also the style and pace of the sessions has allowed for sharing of perspectives and reflective discussion.”
“ It was such precious time to have spent listening and learning as we explored the different areas of vocation together.”
