Commissioning service for those working with children, young people and schools

This new event took place at the start of the academic year and included praying for and commissioning all those involved in this work – whether paid staff or volunteers.

Students from Archbishop Sancroft High School read ‘Children learn what they live’, a poem by Dorothy Law Nolte which reminds us that treating children positively leads to their growth and flourishing. The Bishop of Thetford led the service and spoke from Ephesians 3: 14-21; focusing on the importance of being rooted and grounded in love. God asks us to love the people we are called to serve, and this is demonstrated daily by those working across the Diocese with children and young people in churches and schools.

It is planned that this service will be an annual event and a date has been set for Thursday 3 September 2020 in Norwich Cathedral.
