A training day for curates took place at St Nicholas Church in Dereham on 2 May. The training day was titled ‘Keeping the roof on’ with the aim to assure curates that they are not alone when it comes to caring for church buildings.
The speakers included Nick Cannon (DAC Sec), Andrew Barnes (DAC Chair), Stuart Jones (Diocesan Registrar), Iain Walker (Architect for Spire), Paul Cubitt (Team Rector at Dereham St Nicholas), John Maddison (Trustee of the Norfolk Churches Trust) and Anna Venn-Moncur (Historic Church Building Support Officer).
The full day event included talks, worship, question and answer, and a tour of the church.
