In 2021 alone, churches across the country received digital donations and payments of almost £5m. That’s why the Church of England’s National Giving Team is embarking on a three-year project to help thousands more churches get started with digital giving.
In 2023 the Diocese is taking part in the Church of England’s Digital Giving Rollout. There will be a variety of contactless machines, available at £30 each, to suit the needs and connectivity of your parish. The Generous Giving Team would like to hear from you if you are interested in having one of these machines. You can register your expression of interest by emailing Naomi Rizk or calling her on 01603 882358.
The dates of the rollout are as follows:
February 23 – applications open
March 23 – successful churches notified
March to May 23 – churches to complete merchant account set up and attend webinar
June 2023 – machines will be issued, set up and in-person training given
As we move increasingly to a cashless society this is a great opportunity for churches to offer an additional mechanism to enable people to give and live out their faith.
