A letter from Lady Dannatt MBE, Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk

Across the Diocese I am sure there are many people who give selflessly to support the clergy, the parish and their local community. They give time and enthusiasm, which is so vital in many rural parishes, and that contribution can make the difference to keeping a local church open for worship and supporting many people. It might be cleaning a church, doing flowers, organising fund raising events and so many more other activities.

National Honours (BEM, OBE, MBE etc) are awarded twice a year and they recognise exceptional service and anyone can nominate anyone else for an honour.

If you know someone in your parish who has made an outstanding contribution please consider nominating them now. It is much simpler that you might think – just go to www.gov.uk/honours to access an online nomination form.

Further advice on how to complete the form can be found at Honours for Individuals – Norfolk Lieutenancy (norfolk-lieutenancy.org.uk)

You will need to describe clearly and concisely what is special about the nominee’s achievements and the real difference they have made to your parish.

I hope you will consider nominating someone from your community this year.

Thank you

Lady Dannatt MBE

HM Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk
