Marking Remembrance across the Diocese

Throughout the Diocese, parishes have been busily preparing to mark the poignant period of Remembrance.

Below we have gathered just a small selection of the visual tributes church communities have crafted to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of our war dead.

Aylsham

A poppy cascade has been installed at Aylsham Parish Church, with the display centred on the font.


Snettisham

The local community has knitted and crocheted more than 2,000 poppies for a striking tribute outside St Mary’s at Snettisham.


Stibbard

The pews at All Saints Church in Stibbard are playing host to Ten Tommies, transparent silhouettes commemorating the lives of the village’s men who gave their lives in WWI.


North Walsham

St Nicholas Church in North Walsham is festooned in poppies, spanning the full width of the nave.


Gorleston

The team at St Mary Magdalene in Gorleston has prepared the church for the Remembrance weekend services with a range of adornments.


Ovington

St John’s in Ovington has adorned the pathway to the church’s door with poppies crafted by the local community.
