Living in Love & Faith

Christian teaching and learning about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage.

How do questions about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage fit within the bigger picture of the good news of Jesus Christ? What does it mean to live in love and faith together as a Church?

Since 2017, the Church of England has been journeying together exploring some of these questions by means of a suite of Living in Love and Faith resources that were published in November 2020. The bishops of the Church of England invited church communities from across the country to use the resources to learn together, to listen to one another and to God. Everyone who took part was encouraged to share their insights, stories and reflections in order to contribute to the bishops’ discernment about matters of identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage.

Resources

Begin your own learning journey through the resources. They include:

  • the five-session video-based course
  • podcasts
  • films
  • a large online library of resources about the themes of identity, sexuality, relationships and marriag

Even though the churchwide engagement phase has now ended, the LLF book, study guides, podcasts and real-life personal story films are still a very helpful resource for churches and individuals around the subjects of sexuality, gender, identity, relationships and marriage.

Living in Love and Faith Conversations Resource

Living in Love and Faith Conversations is a new resource created by the Diocese of Exeter to enable churches and deaneries to have constructive conversations about the Prayers of Love and Faith. It has been designed as a 90-minute one-off facilitated group discussion. It has carefully been structured to enable people to share their reflections about the prayers in a safe and supportive way. You can run it independently or request a diocesan facilitator if you would like to.
