The Diocese of Norwich is proud to announce that Revd Tim Yau has successfully completed his mentor training and is now a certificated mentor with the National Racial Justice Unit. This achievement comes as part of the diocese’s commitment to supporting ministerial development and nurturing future UKME/GMH church leaders.
The training, offered through the Racial Justice Unit, was led by Anita Rolls, an experienced coach and executive mentor with the Career Intelligence Academy. The program aims to equip experienced clergy and lay leaders with the skills needed to mentor those wanting to further their ministry in the C of E.
Revd Tim Yau says, ” I am a firm believer that when it comes to encouraging UKME/GMH vocations in the Church ‘you’ve got to see it to be it.’ This invaluable and timely mentoring programme helped me to realise things about myself and my own ministry aspirations, as well as training the nationwide cohort of mentors to model and make a way for the vocations of UKME/GMH people.”
Revd Tim will now join a dedicated group of mentors, offering guidance and support to UKME/GMH colleagues embarking on their ministerial journey. His certification is a significant step in enhancing the diocese’s capacity to foster leadership and provide pastoral care through mentorship.
Applications for future mentor training programs are open to Anglican lay and ordained individuals looking to further their ministry experience. For more information, please contact Revd Canon Dr Sharon Prentis, Deputy Director of the Racial Justice Unit. racialjusticeunit@churchofengland.org
