PRIEST IN CHARGE and HOUSE FOR DUTY PRIEST (two posts) – The Brooke Benefice and Hempnall Group of Parishes

Posted on: Tuesday 25 February 2025

Brooke and Hempnall

Who we are

We are two well-established multi-parish benefices, friendly next-door-neighbours in an attractive part of rural South Norfolk.  With similar populations, church traditions and worship styles. we have chosen to work co-operatively since 2022.  While wishing to remain legally separate with our own identities, we now seek to recruit together a new clergy team to provide leadership across all our communities.

The two posts

  • One full-time Priest in Charge to be licenced in both benefices
  • One part-time House for Duty priest to be licensed in both benefices.

This is an exciting and unusual opportunity to form and mould a brand-new clergy team, offering the advantages of joint working, with each other and with a strong lay Ministry Team.  Further support is provided by a part-time employed administrator.

Who we’re seeking

We are looking for spiritual and prayerful leaders who will work together to strengthen our relationships with God and each other, both within our churches and the wider community. We seek priests who are:

❖ Approachable, supportive leaders and team builders, able to recognise and facilitate the development of others

❖Good listeners and communicators who will inspire and enrich people of all ages and backgrounds

❖Compassionate, with strong pastoral skills

❖Imaginative and creative in their approach to mission and outreach

❖Able to thrive in rural ministry and be actively present within community life

❖Willing to embrace and build on a variety of liturgy.
